I know poetry is sapphic af but I never had a girlfriend who was poetic before and her words are just so beautiful. And when she writes about me?!?!? Wow. The butterflies are so real.
isaac’s little scene of figuring out his identity is very near and dear to my heart. i’m not much of a crier but i did tear up a little seeing a tiny bit of myself on screen. aromantic and asexual people are never talked about in media (especially a popular show like this) so yeah this was kinda important to us.
Sometimes I forget my girlfriend is from Long Island bc she will say things sometimes that only a long islander would say and I’m just like 👀👀👀 you good? Your Long Island just came out. And she’s always like 😅 oops
And personally? To be in the tickets booth, and see young girls, teenagers, adult women, coming in to see Barbie,
the most highlighter pink outfits, some of them coming in with the dolls they’re dressed as, laughing to each other, cheering for each other,
to see the men they’re coming to see it with, dressed in pink, cheering them on, taking their pictures with smiles and cheers in the lobby at the photo op
touches something so deep in me
I can’t say any nuances of the movie that haven’t already been said, but like, fuck man, love is so deep and so kind and to be able to see glimpses of it from behind my little ticket desk makes me a little less nihilistic.
